Update on fuel supply

Sri Lanka is in possession of only a limited amount of diesel at present, the Sri Lanka Petroleum Private Tanker Owners’ Association (SLPPTOA) revealed today.

Joint Secretary of the Association D.V. Shantha Silva pointed out that there is a shortage of diesel in the country.

He further said thereby, the limited stocks of diesel will be provided to the essential services as a priority. 

Shantha Silva also revealed there are sufficient stock of petrol at the Kollonawa and Muthurajawela storage terminals.

According to the existing stocks, there is sufficient petrol for the next two to three days, he added. 

However, long queues are continuing to be witnessed at several fuel stations across the country today as well. (NewsWire)
