An Army soldier has been arrested on charges of allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old school student in the Thirappane area, Lankadeepa reported.
The Thirappane Police said the suspect has been identified as a 24-year-old Army soldier.
The man had allegedly sexually abused the girl at the teachers’ office in a government school in the area.
The child had informed her mother that the suspect had sexually abused her on multiple occasions, following which a complaint had been filed with the Police.
The Army soldier was arrested after preliminary investigations were conducted on the Police complaint.
Preliminary investigations have also revealed that the incidents of abuse had occurred during after-school hours. (NewsWire)
