10- acre land for CEB to build power plant

The Cabinet has approved a proposal to grant a 10-acre land in Muthurajawela to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) for the construction of a power plant. 

The land which is close to the Yugadanavi Power Plant in Kerawalapitiya, Muthurajawela will be granted to the CEB for the construction of a 300 Mega Watt Liquefied natural gas (LNG) Power Plant.

The Land Development Authority has approved the request to grant the land to the CEB, while the CEB has approved the purchase of the land. 

It has been decided for the CEB to purchase the land following a valuation and at market price.

Thereby, the Cabinet has granted approval to the proposal that has been submitted by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing in this regard. (NewsWire)
