A decision has been taken to increase bus fares, the All Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association said.
The Association said bus fares will be increased by 30% with effect from 01 July.
The minimum fare will be Rs. 40 following the hike in bus fares, the All Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association said.
The decision to increase bus fares has been taken following a discussion with officials from the National Transport Commission (NTC).
Meanwhile, the NTC said recommendations regarding the request to increase bus fares by 30% will be directed to the Transport Ministry tomorrow (29). (NewsWire)
