The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that 3 new methods will be introduced to print electricity bills.
The CEB said that the measures have been taken due to the lack of printing paper as a result of the economic crisis.
The 3 new methods to be introduced by the CEB are as follows:
1. Thermal printed bills
Consumers who expect physical bills will be issued printed bills using thermal paper during monthly meter reading.
2. SMS
Monthly electricity bills are to be issued through a text message to the phone number registered with the CEB after obtaining the meter reading through a text message.
3. CEBCare mobile app
Consumers can also obtain the bill through the mobile application CEBCare.
The Ceylon Electricity Board added that the necessary technical procedures are also currently underway to issue electricity bills through e-mail as the fourth method of issuing bills. (NewsWire)
