President Ranil Wickremesinghe says the views of the younger generation must be considered and their calls for a system change are acceptable.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, he said the past system of two opposing factions has only ruined the country.
Stating that youngsters of the nation have questioned why all parties cannot work together to build the nation, the President said he intends to work together with all political parties representing the Parliament.
Commenting on the public protests, he said it is not democracy to burn houses and take the office of the President and the Prime Minister under the guise of the people’s struggle.
It is against the law, adding that action will be taken against those who oppose the law, he further pointed out. (NewsWire)
