National Fuel Pass system : Update from Energy Minister

Vehicle users who are unable to register for the National Fuel Pass with their chassis number will be permitted to register with their revenue license from Friday, Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera announced.

He revealed the alternative registration method via a Twitter message pertaining to the National Fuel Pass system.  

The Minister also highlighted that separate fuel stations will be allocated for three-wheelers and motorcycles based on their registration.

Following are 05 key updates on the National Fuel Pass system :

  1. All three-wheel users have been requested to register their vehicles at their respective area Police Station and nominate 1 fuel station before the 31st of July. 
  2. From the 1st of August, three-wheelers will only be allowed to obtain fuel from their registered fuel station.
  3. Vehicle users that cannot register with the chassis number will be able to register with their revenue license from Friday, 29th of July. 
  4. Users of 49CC bikes have to register with the Department of Motor Traffic to obtain their licenses and register for the National Fuel Pass.
  5. A request has been made from all users of Garden Equipment, Generators, and other equipment requiring fuel to register their requirements in their respective Divisional secretariats with their weekly fuel requirements and to nominate 1 fuel station to obtain the requirement. (NewsWire)
