An individual has been killed after being shot dead in the Sathosmathagama area in Middeniya last night (01).
The Police said the victim has been identified as a 47-year-old resident of Sathosmathagama.
The man had been shot by an unknown gunman close to his residence while he was returning from a visit to his wife’s relative’s house.
The gunman had fled the area following the shooting, while the victim died following admission to the hospital.
The cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained. The Middeniya Police is conducting further investigations.
