The Cabinet has granted approval to provide no-pay local leave for pension-owning government officers up to a maximum of 05 years.

The government said a committee consisting of senior officers was appointed in June to make recommendations regarding the provision of local leave for pension-owning government officers without causing any prejudice to seniority.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Public Administration, Inland Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.

Cabinet approval has been granted to implement the recommendations made by the committee regarding the granting of no-pay leave up to a maximum period of 5 years. (NewsWire)
