The University of Peradeniya is planning to introduce a part-time job programme for its students with a view to training and providing a working experience.
Vice-Chancellor Professor M.D. Lamawansa says the university plans to provide part-time job opportunities to students within the university premises.
As per the plans, part-time jobs will be provided to around 300 students. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students will be given priority and 1st-year students who require part-time jobs will be considered.
Prof. Lamawansa further said students will be permitted to engage in part-time jobs for 15 to 20 hours per month.
This is the first time in Sri Lanka’s state university system that such a part-time job programme is being implemented. (NewsWire)
