Daily power cuts may need to be further extended due to an issue at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced today.
PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said that the 3rd Coal Power Plant in Norochcholai has been shut down due to a fault.
Ratnayake said that thereby, the daily power cuts may need to be further extended.
The exact power cut schedule will be announced soon, he added.
The daily power cuts were extended from 01- hour to 02 hours and 20 minutes recently.
