Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) with regard to a post on Facebook alleging that special treatment was being provided to a remand prisoner through him.
In a letter to the Director CID, the Justice Minister refuted the allegation, stating that it has brought the entire law enforcement system, including the judiciary, into a state of ridicule and contempt.
He further said the false and malicious post regarding a pending case has caused severe prejudice to the entire legal system and warrants remedial action.
Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has called on the CID to conduct an inquiry into the allegation and report to the Fort Magistrate for further action. (NewsWire)
