Police investigations have been launched into the robbery of Rs. 10 million worth of cash and gold items from the house of a businessman in Ward Place, Colombo 07.
The complaint filed at the Cinnamon Gardens Police states that the stolen items include Rs.500,000 in cash, three gold necklaces, 10 gold bracelets,10 pairs of gold earrings, five gold rings, three ladies’ watches, and a projector.
The Police said that the robbery is reported to have taken place between 08.00 pm on Saturday (19) and 06.00 and on Sunday (20), and the owners of the house, who had not been at the residence at the time of the incident, had been informed in this regard by the servant.
The Cinnamon Gardens Police is conducting investigations into the theft after monitoring footage of the security cameras installed in the house. (NewsWire)
