Inter-University Student’s Federation (IUSF) Convenor Wasantha Mudalige has been re-remanded until the 17th of January 2023.
He was ordered to be remanded by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court when the case pertaining to his detention was taken up for hearing today.
The court yesterday too remanded Wasantha Mudalige until today in order to receive the Attorney General’s advice in relation to the case.
Wasantha Mudalige, Ven. Galwewa Siridamma Thero, and another activist were arrested and detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) for their involvement in anti-government protests.
Ven. Galwewa Siridamma Thera was released on bail on 23rd November, while Wasantha Mudalige remains detained under the PTA for over 90 days. (NewsWire)
