The budget allocation for 2023 of the Kurunegala Municipal Council presented by the ruling party, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has been defeated by a majority of seven votes.
Kurunegala Mayor Thushara Snajeeewa Vitharana presented the proposed budget during a meeting of the council members which was convened at the Kurunegala Municipal Council today.
According to Lankadeepa, this is the final budget to be presented by the SLPP to the council ahead of the conclusion of its tenure as the ruling party of the Kurunegala Municipal Council.
The proposed budget for 2023 of the Kurunegala Municipal Council was defeated with 14 votes against and 07 voted in favour. (NewsWire)
