A tragic incident has been reported from Pitarathmale watta area in Haputale Police division where a 12-year-old child had died after being strangled off a saree.
The victim has reportedly strangled on the saree used as a cradle for her younger sibling, the police said.
The incident has happened on Thursday (22) night, when the parents had taken the younger children to another room to put them to sleep.
