The Department of Meteorology says the low-pressure area to the west of the Island is gradually moving away from the coast of Sri Lanka.
As this system moves away from the island, it is expected that its impact on the Island’s weather will lessen from this evening.
According to the weather forecast issued for Tuesday (27), several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces tomorrow.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces during the afternoon or night.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
