701,331 foreign tourist arrivals have been reported in Sri Lanka as of 26th December 2022, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reported.
According to the SLTDA, this is an increase in comparison to the 194, 495 reported in 2021.
A total of 73,314 tourist arrivals have been reported between the 1st to the 26th of December 2022.
During the month of December, the highest number of tourist arrivals has been reported from Russia with 15,681 arrivals, followed by India with 13,892 arrivals.
Over 6000 tourists have arrived from the United Kingdom and over 4000 tourists from Australia.
Over 3000 tourists each have arrived from Germany and the USA, while over 2000 foreign tourists each have arrived from the Maldives, France, and Canada.
A total of 1,312 tourists arrived from Israel during this period.
