A male school teacher has been arrested in Horowpathana on suspicion of having sexually molested a 10-year-old girl, the Horowpathana Police stated.
According to Lankadeepa, the suspect had molested the child while she had participated in tuition classes conducted by him.
The suspect is a teacher from Kahatagasdigiliya and reportedly is a father of a 10-year-old female child himself.
The Police stated that the victim had been sexually molested during the tuition class and had informed her parents upon returning home from class on the same day.
The Police stated that, however, the parents had remained silent and had not taken any legal measures despite being informed of the sexual abuse.
The Horowpathana Police arrested the suspect yesterday (08) after receiving information about the abuse. (NewsWire)
