The Parliament Committee on High Posts has approved the appointment of three new ambassadors.
Acting Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera said that approval was given for the appointment of Kapila Susantha Jayaweera as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Lebanon.
The Committee on High Posts has also approved the appointment of Wijeratne Mendis as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Kushani Rohanadeera noted that the Committee also approved the appointment of Theshantha Kumarasiri as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Federal Republic of Ethiopia and the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the African Union.
The Committee on High Posts approved the appointments of the three new ambassadors when it convened on Thursday, 5th January 2023.
The meeting was chaired by Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, while Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Members of Parliament Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Sudarshanee Fernandopulle and Vijitha Herath had participated. (NewsWire)
