A double murder has been reported in the Palamkulam area in the Pulmoddai Police Division yesterday (29).
A clash between two groups had resulted in the death of two people out of four who had been injured.
The Police stated that the deceased aged 41 and 45, who are residents of Pulmoddai, had died after being attacked with sharp objects.
Investigations have revealed that the clash had occurred after one individual had attempted to clear a cattle stall that had been set up on state-owned land by one of the deceased.
However, an argument that had escalated resulted in a clash between two groups, with four persons getting injured.
Two of the injured had been admitted to the Trincomalee Hospital, while two had been admitted to the Pulmoddai Hospital, after which 2 persons died.
The Pulmoddai Police has launched an investigation to apprehend the suspects involved in the incident. (NewsWire)
