The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has denied a news item publish in a weekend newspaper that claimed that the corporation had paid bonus for its employees this year in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Issuing a notice today (08), the CPC categorically denied that bonuses were paid to employees and clarified that only a festival advance loan of Rs. 30,000 was provided for those employees who had made a written request and not taken any no-pay leave.
The notice further started that this loan amount will be recovered from the employees with interest within a 10 month period.
The CPC has requested the relevant media institution to make the correction regarding this news item and requests the general public to be cautious regarding malicious propaganda targeted at discrediting the CPC. (NewsWire)
