Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer Basil Rajapaksa is among most suitable individuals to lead Sri Lanka in the future, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said on Tuesday (11).
Speaking to the media today, Kariyawasam stated that Basil Rajapaksa has already shown and proven his potential to the nation.
“He played a key told during Sri Lanka’s civil war and a leader who was able to obtain the assistance of foreign nations during the war,” he said.
Kariyawasam further said Basil Rajapaksa also played a key part in bringing Sri Lanka among economically developed nations and was a successful Finance Minister of the nation.
Basil Rajapaksa is also a leader who brought forth development in the North and East following the conclusion of the war, he said.
Stating that despite various allegations of corruption in the past, Basil Rajapaksa has now been released from all the cases, the SLPP General Secretary emphasized that Basil Rajapaksa was the most suitable leader for Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
