A father of three has been assaulted for having allegedly opposed persons engaged in a motorcycle show during the funeral procession of a teenager who had been killed in an accident involving a motorcycle recently.
A 19-year-old teenager from Wadduwa was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday (Aug.07), while his funeral took place at the Wadduwa Cemetery yesterday.
A group of youngsters on 30 motorcycles had held a motorcycle show, with some one-wheeling, in order to pay their last respects to the deceased.
Despite many onlookers not objecting to the motorcycle show, a father of three had admonished the group, resulting in him being assaulted and injured by the motorcyclists.
The man had been rescued from the group by area residents. The Wadduwa Police has launched an investigation into the incident. (NewsWire)
