Kingdom of Saudi Arabia implemented a volunteer project to combat blindness in “Walasmulla” in southern Sri Lanka and “Kattankudy” in eastern Sri Lanka during the period from 06 to 16 September 2023.
The project includes diagnosing thousands of cases, providing medical services to them, sorting cases that need surgical intervention, treatment, medications, removing cataracts, operations such as nail removal and treating tear duct obstruction, providing patients with medicines, spectacles and lenses, while alleviating the suffering of many people with blindness, and carrying out health awareness for all who receive preventive treatment. During these campaigns, patients were treated as follows:
“Walasmulla” – Southern part of Sri Lanka:
