Police inquiry into wreath placed outside Minister Rambukwella’s residence

The Cinnamon Gardens Police has launched an investigation into the placing of a wreath in front of the official Colombo residence of Minister of Environment Keheliya Rambukwella. 

According to media reports, the Cinnamon Gardens Police had yesterday (Jan 08) informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis of the investigation. 

The daughter of Keheliya Rambukwella has filed a complaint with the Police claiming that some individual or group had placed a wreath in front of the residence gate, subjecting the family to criminal intimidation and insult.

In her complaint, Pavithra Rambukwella requested the Police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident and initiate legal action against those found responsible. 

Informing that investigations have been launched into the incident, the Police further told the Magistrate that they intend to inspect CCTV footage captured near the Colombo 07 residence of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. (NewsWire)
