A section of the ground floor of the Outpatient Department (OPD) at Kandy National Hospital was flooded following heavy rainfall on Saturday night.

Central Province Governor Dr. Harsha Suranga Fernando visited the hospital on Sunday morning to inspect the affected areas and assess the situation.

During the inspection, the Governor instructed hospital authorities and relevant officials to take immediate steps to restore normal operations.

Following his intervention, the Sri Lanka Army and Kandy Municipal Council joined hospital staff and other relevant institutions in cleaning and restoration efforts.

The Governor also directed officials to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that the hospital’s daily services return to normal by Monday.
