The policies of Samagi Jana Balawegaya and United National Party are worlds apart, Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has said.
Addressing an event, the opposition leader asserted that countries professing socialism or communism don’t truly implement it, but rather engage in extreme capitalism. Additionally, he pointed out that China embraces capitalism even more than America.
Sajith Premadasa went on to add that socialism is not the way to build the economy or a country, but capitalism is the true way.
He said that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the United National Party are starkly different to each other as the UNP follows Crony Capitalism while the SJB believes in social democratic policy, which is humanistic capitalism.
The opposition leader added that the government ignored the super rich and burdened the working people with taxes during the domestic debt restructuring process and that the sacrifices are made by the working class and not the rich. (NewsWire)
