Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member M.G. Weerasena has been selected to fill the Parliamentary seat vacated by the demise of former Anuradhapura District SLPP MP H. Nandasena.
Issuing a statement, the National Election Commission announced that M.G. Weerasena was next in line from the SLPP’s list in the Anuradhapura District to enter Parliament.
The appointment comes after SLPP Anuradhapura District MP H. Nandasena passed away last morning at the age of 69 years.
The SLPP MP had passed away while receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. (Newswire)
