Police lifeguards save five from drowning in Panadura

Police lifeguards have saved five individuals who were swept away by currents, while bathing at the Panadura beach. 

Constables Pushpakumara and Danuka attached to the Police Lifeguard Unit who were on duty at the time, had rescued the five individuals from drowning. 

The rescued had been admitted to hospital for treatment. 

The individuals, residents of Bulathsinhala, Alabama and Alubomulla, were aged 19, 20, 23 and 29, Police said. (Newswire)
