Central Bank publishes Sustainable Finance Roadmap 2.0

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has published the Sustainable Finance Roadmap 2.0, to cater the emerging trends in sustainable financing at the global level and to address domestic market developments and stakeholder demand in line with the Central Bankís objectives of price & financial system stability, as well as its duty on enhancing financial inclusion among Sri Lankan society. 

According to the CBSL, Roadmap 2.0 extends its scope to the social aspect of sustainability, covering a wider spectrum of economic activities aimed at addressing the need for financial inclusion. 

Priority actions of the Sustainable Finance Roadmap 2.0 are to be implemented by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka together with the financial sector stakeholders over a period of five years from 2025 to 2029.

This Roadmap has been developed by the CBSL, with technical and financial support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in partnership with the European Union, under the Accelerating Climate-Smart and Inclusive Infrastructure in South Asia (ACSIIS) program, and in close collaboration with financial sector regulators, financial institutions, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
