Top businesswoman arrested for not paying TAX

Kushani Nanayakkara, wife of former State Minister Dunesh Gankanda, was arrested on June 7 by the Colombo Central CID over a Rs. 700 million tax evasion case. Despite repeated warnings and legal notices, she allegedly failed to settle tax dues, prompting court action and an arrest warrant. She was apprehended during a special operation in Narahenpita after attempting to flee.
