Fadhil Bakeer Markar takes up senior UNDP role in Bhutan

Fadhil Bakeer Markar, a Sri Lankan development professional, has been appointed deputy resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bhutan.

Markar previously served with UNDP Sri Lanka, where he led the Strategic Engagement, Digital and Innovation team and worked as communications team lead and youth focal point. He has extensive experience in strategic communications, youth engagement and digital innovation.

UNDP Bhutan welcomed him in a statement on social media, saying, “From Sri Lanka to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon — a warm welcome to @fadhilbm, our new Deputy Resident Representative.”
