Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced the revised schedule of the national men’s team for the ongoing ODI series and the upcoming T20I tri-series against Pakistan.
According to the SLC, the 16-member national squad, along with the team management and support staff currently touring Pakistan, have decided to continue with the tour.
This decision follows assurances provided by Sri Lanka Cricket, in close consultation with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the relevant authorities, to ensure the safety and well-being of every member of the touring party.
Accordingly, the players, team management, and support staff will remain in Pakistan to take part in the ongoing ODI series and the upcoming T20I tri-series.
Earlier, Sri Lankan players had raised concerns and sought their immediate return following security concerns triggered by a recent suicide bomb blast in Islamabad.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the country’s interim interior minister, had met the Sri Lankan players, addressing their concerns and reaffirming Pakistan’s security commitments.
