
Australian police confirmed that 10 people have been killed, including a man believed to be one of the shooters, following a shooting at Bondi Beach on Sunday.
New South Wales Police said the incident involved two male attackers. One suspected gunman was killed, while the second is in a critical condition. At least 11 other people were injured, including two police officers who were shot during the operation.
“A police operation is ongoing after a public place shooting by two men at Bondi Beach earlier today,” NSW Police said in a statement, adding that investigations are continuing.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the scenes at Bondi as “shocking and distressing,” extending his condolences to the victims, their families and those affected by the attack.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area as police continue their response and inquiries. (Video)
