Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has paid his respects to late former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia during an official visit to Bangladesh.
The Foreign Minister met Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and son of the late Prime Minister, at the BNP Chairperson’s Office in Dhaka.
During the meeting, Herath conveyed the deepest condolences of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to the bereaved family and the people of Bangladesh on the passing of the former Prime Minister.
The Foreign Minister also signed the condolence book at the BNP Chairperson’s Office, paying his respects to Khaleda Zia. Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dharmapala Weerakkody, was also present on the occasion. (Newswire)
