The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) has issued a warning to stakeholders and the public regarding a fraudulent AI-generated video circulating on social media.
The video features an image of the BOI Director General and CEO, Ms Renuka M. Weerakone, and falsely attributes statements to her.
In its announcement, the BOI stressed that the video is a scam and urged the public to remain vigilant.
The institution advised individuals to verify information only through official channels and to report any encountered video, emphasising the importance of safeguarding against misinformation and digital fraud. (Newswire)
