Cricket West Indies said it will restrict social media accounts that engage in cyberbullying, harassment or personal abuse from interacting with its digital platforms, calling for respectful online engagement from fans.

In a statement on respectful online conduct, Cricket West Indies said healthy debate is welcome but mutual respect must remain at the heart of all interactions.

The board warned that abusive behaviour toward players and their families has no place in West Indies cricket, noting that online comments can have a real and lasting impact, particularly on younger individuals.

“Accounts that instigate or engage in abusive behaviour will be restricted from interacting with our pages, with immediate effect,” the statement said.

Cricket West Indies urged supporters and stakeholders to engage thoughtfully and respectfully across its digital platforms, adding that unity and respect are core values of West Indies cricket.(Newswire)
