Former India cricketer Suresh Raina has included Sri Lanka among his predicted semi-finalists for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, setting the hosts apart from most other expert selections.
Raina named India, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka as his four semi-final picks during a Star Sports expert panel discussion. His prediction contrasted with most other analysts, who largely backed Australia and England alongside India and New Zealand.

Irfan Pathan picked India, Australia, England and Pakistan.
Cheteshwar Pujara, Anil Kumble, Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar all named India, Australia, England and New Zealand.
Mohammad Kaif chose India, South Africa, New Zealand and England.
