Students urge Permanent Fix for Bedbug Problem at Rajarata University

The Rajarata University Students’ Union has called for a permanent solution to a severe bedbug infestation in the university’s hostel premises.

The union said the problem has persisted for nearly two years, causing significant inconvenience to students. Despite repeated complaints to the university administration, only temporary measures such as spraying insecticide have been taken, which have failed to resolve the issue.

According to the students, the worsening infestation has led to skin conditions and allergic reactions among many residents, affecting both their health and academic activities.

The Students’ Union urged the authorities to implement a comprehensive professional pest control programme covering all hostel rooms and furniture to eliminate the infestation permanently. (Newswire)
