The Department of Registration of Persons has warned that an unidentified party is collecting personal information by misusing the department’s hotline and WhatsApp services.
The department said the individuals were using hotline numbers 115226126, +94115226126 and 0115226126 to obtain personal details from the public.
Acting Commissioner General M.C.P. Suriyapperuma said that the department does not contact individuals to request such information and urged the public not to share personal details through these channels. (Newswire)
