More than Rs. 536 million in revenue was generated from expressways during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year period from April 10 to 20th, according to the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development.
A total of 1,431,319 vehicles used the expressway network during the period, contributing to the earnings.
The highest daily revenue was recorded on April 10th, when 161,847 vehicles generated over Rs. 59.8 million.
The revenue was generated from vehicles travelling on the Southern Expressway, Outer Circular Highway, Colombo–Katunayake Expressway and the Central Expressway. (Newswire)
