The entrance towards Colombo at the Welipenna interchange of the Southern Expressway has been temporarily closed for light vehicles, the Road Development Authority (RDA) announced.
The RDA said that the decision was taken after the interchange became submerged in water.
However, the RDA confirmed that heavy vehicles heading towards Colombo, as well as all vehicles travelling towards Matara, continue to operate through the interchange as usual. (Newswire)
