The Mayor of Nawalapitiya, son and son-in-law have been arrested for allegedly assaulting an individual following a road accident.
According to Police, the assault occurred after an argument broke out following a vehicle accident and subsequently escalated into a physical confrontation.
Police said the Mayor’s son and son-in-law were initially arrested in connection with the incident, while the Mayor was later arrested in connection with the incident.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before court today (12). Further investigations are underway. (Newswire)
