A Sri Lankan passenger has appealed for urgent assistance to locate her missing cat, Chuuti, who allegedly disappeared from its carrier at Dubai International Airport while in the care of SriLankan Airlines on October 11.

She was scheduled to travel from Dubai to Colombo on SriLankan Airlines flight UL226 from Terminal 1. She said she had completed the required documentation, paid the necessary fees and handed over the cat to the airline for transportation.

However, after passing through immigration, she was informed that the cat had gone missing from its carrier, prompting her to refuse to board the flight.

In a public appeal, she said she had remained at the airport for approximately 28 hours searching for her pet and seeking assistance, while expressing frustration over what she described as a lack of accountability and support from the parties involved.

She also claimed she had been informed that there were no CCTV cameras in the airport’s cargo area.

The passenger is seeking an explanation of how the cat went missing, details of the efforts being made to locate it and accountability for the incident.

She has urged anyone who has seen or found Chuuti to contact her via WhatsApp on +971 588 171 458 or call +971 567 725 796 or +971 567 827 796. (Newswire)
