Around seven decommissioned fishing boats were completely destroyed in a fire that broke out at the Galle Fisheries Harbour on Sunday afternoon (8).
Galle Harbour Police, Sri Lanka Navy personnel from the Dakshina Naval Base and members of the local fishing community worked together to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading further.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
