Asia-Pacific Secretaries Congress ends in Colombo after 25-year return

The 26th Asia-Pacific Secretaries Congress (ASA Congress) successfully concluded in Colombo on April 29, marking a historic return to Sri Lanka after 25 years.

Organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS), the Congress was held from April 25 to 29 at Cinnamon Grand Colombo under the theme “Empowering Diversity Beyond Borders.” The event brought together administrative professionals, corporate leaders, and entrepreneurs from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Congress featured keynote speeches, leadership forums, skills development workshops, and cultural excursions, offering a rich blend of professional development and Sri Lankan hospitality.

SLAAPS President and ASA President Azra Reyaldeen described the Congress as a celebration of growth, transformation, and regional unity, recognising the journey of administrative professionals evolving into corporate and entrepreneurial leadership.

The event was made possible through the support of several sponsors. The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau served as the main sponsor, with Bellagio Colombo as co-sponsor. Cinnamon Grand Colombo was the official hospitality partner, while Acorn Travels and SriLankan Airlines served as the official travel and airline partners.

Gold sponsors included Pastamania Colombo and Damro. Silver sponsors were Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) and Baza Gems. The Congress also received additional sponsorship support from Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO), Hayleys PLC, Lanka Hospitals, NOLIMIT, and the Bank of Ceylon.
