
Dengue-related deaths in Sri Lanka have risen to 47, while 67,143 dengue cases have been reported across the country so far this year.
According to statistics from the National Dengue Control Unit, 11,764 cases were recorded during the first 10 days of July alone, with around 1,110 cases reported on July 10.
More than 52% of the cases have been reported from the Western Province, with Gampaha district recording the highest number of dengue cases at 13,795, surpassing Colombo district, which reported 13,563 cases.
Officials have warned that several major hospitals are currently under pressure after reaching maximum capacity, leading to congestion and strain on hospital services. (Newswire)
