The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) says two American service members were killed and another remains missing following Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on U.S. and partner forces in Jordan on July 17.

In a statement, CENTCOM said four additional U.S. service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan but have since been discharged. Personnel treated for minor injuries have also returned to duty.

CENTCOM said it is withholding the identities of the deceased service members until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified.

The announcement comes amid escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran, with both sides exchanging attacks across the region. (Newswire)
