Special train for Madhu Festival

Special train services will operate for the festival of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Madhu held on 15th August, Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakaratne said.

Addressing the media, the Deputy Minister said that one train will leave from Negombo at 09.00 pm on 13th August and will return at 04.00 pm after the end of the festival. 

Stating that the train will commence its journey from Negombo and stop at Ragama, and head to the Catholic Church in Madhu, he said it will also stop at Kurana, Katunayake, Seeduwa, Ja-Ela, Kandana, Gampaha, Mirigama, and Veyangoda on its way. 

The public can board the train from any one of these railway stations to head to the Catholic Church in Madhu, he said. 

Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakaratne further said that another train will also operate from Moratuwa to the Catholic Church in Madhu, also on 13th August. (Newswire)
